Happy May! I am so excited it is finally spring and school is almost over, so I can focus on all of my planned art projects! We are slowly working on our table runner, but I wanted to start a new project with all the time I have now. I looked at finishing the quilt “The Wondrous Cross;” however, we are missing two needed strips of dark purple to finish. Might be why gramma didn’t finish in the first place?
Instead, I decided to start working on a red, white, and blue quilt that was apart of a Decatur Quilters’ Guild Evening Group Swap in 2002. I plan on making it into a Kingsize quilt for my future bed. I will keep you updated on how this process goes. I usually quilt small wall hangings so this is a large task. Thank goodness a lot of the pieces are already cut out.
Thank you to all the lovely ladies who helped make some of these blocks! This quilt will go beautifully with the handpainted plates that my family and I have made for my apartment.

It’s been a strange and difficult couple of months for us all. We encourage all of you to find your rest and refuge in the Lord. We hope you have found projects to keep you busy! God bless and happy quilting (or gardening, or painting, or whatever project beings you joy)!
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;”
Psalms 46:1-2 KJV
