I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in so long… Seems like this blog became a half started project, we forgot about in the back of our closet (like so many quilters do). I hope everyone is doing well and safe in their homes during these difficult times.
My family and I were supposed to have a celebration of life for Gramma last week. However, we canceled, because we wanted everyone to feel safe traveling. Therefore, for your enjoyment, here is one of Gramma’s quilts she made. Hopefully, it will remind us that even if we have to stay home, we can still enjoy the stars in our neighborhood.

Made by Bonnie Ruecker in 2008 and quilted by Judy Harris
I’ve been working on my own quilt (the red, white, and blue one I mentioned in “God is Our Refuge”) for the past couple of months. Biggest one I have ever done! We did the math, and we had to cut around 2,480 little squares to make this quilt. When I say we, I really mean my mom. She is the true hero for cutting all of those squares out for me (I hate cutting)! I hope this quilt will be a staple for my home for many years to come. As the saying goes, a bed without a quilt is like a sky without stars. I’m so thankful to our Creator for giving us the beautiful stars to gaze at and the skills to create our own bits of beauty through fabric and love.
