Hello Again!

Hello again! I start all my blog posts with long time, no post! I am hoping to make posting more routine, and I am relying on all of you to keep me honest! I have a few projects that I have not shared in the past half year, so the next couple of posts will be projects I finished awhile ago. I would love some honest feed back of what you think about this blog and what you would like to see. I have some questions at the bottom of this post for you to give me some ideas for! As always, I would love to share the your projects or wisdom, so please send me your pictures or advice!

Quick life update: my husband and I have moved to Washington state, we have both started our work on a submarine, and we bought a new house! I recently qualified as a submarine officer (this picture is my dolphins). I will probably have more updates of the new house as I start to put my sewing space together.

This weekend, I went to the sewing expo at the Washington State Fairgrounds. Here are some quilts that were displayed that I really loved. Quilters are extremely talented. It is truly amazing the different quilts that can be made from fabric. These quilts are amazing and might seem intimidating, especially for new quilters. But don’t lose heart! Every quilter starts somewhere and every quilt starts as a pile of fabric and thread. Just like we are all created different and beautiful in our own way, each quilt has its own unique journey and no quilt is made the same.

I mostly got business cards and brochures at the sewing expo. To the right is my collection after the expo (and my tea:). I definitely could have spent more money there! They had lots of vendors and quilts displayed. Above are some of my favorite quilts I saw, and below are some of the medium arm sewing machines I tried. I am currently looking to expand my sewing machine collections and in the market for a medium or long arm. Overall, I loved the Handi Quilter “Amara” machine. Its stitches were beautiful and the best part is that it can be either a medium arm or turned into a long arm when I have more space later in life! I will keep y’all updated on my machine journey.
